VICTORIA
(1819 - 1901) Queen of England, reigned during the Crimean and Boer Wars, abolished the East India Company, brought Disraeli to power as Prime Minister, and is considered the symbol of a unified British Empire. Partly-printed D.S. "Victoria R." as Queen, 1p. folio, Court at St. James, Oct. 17, 1881, the appointment of Edward Augustus Carter to serve as an Adjutant in the Militia, nicely signed above the blue paper seal at upper-left. Heavy folds, some scattered foxing, still overall very good.
