VASILY I. CHUIKOV
(1900 - 1982) Russian general who was an essential planner and director of the battle of Stalingrad, his forces headed the spearhead to Berlin, where he had the honor of receiving the surrender of the city from General Krebs. Superb war-date D.S., a fifty yen Japanese bank note (pre-war) boldy signed on the verso. Beside the signature the recipient has penned in the same ink: "The Hero of Stalingrad signed V.E. Day Berlin May 9, 1945". From the estate of ERNEST "TEX" LEE (1911-1965) San Antonio native who joined the Army and became Eisenhower's Executive Officer and Aide-de-Camp when the future general was a colonel. Somewhat worn, still overall very good.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry.
