Description: VALLEY FORGE IRON BUCKET
Interesting relic from the Revolutionary War era, a small iron bucket, 3.5 x 3.5 x 4 in. dia., with an original handle, in 'dug' condition with heavy oxidation. No marks present due to wear. A tag accompanying the bucket explains these small examples could have been used to melt lead in order to make musket balls. Purchased by our consignor from a collector who legally excavated land at Valley Forge before it was bought by the National Park Service.
