Good lot of four items signed by Northern politicians of the Civil War era, includes: CHARLES F. ADAMS, SR. (1807-1886) U.S. Envoy to Great Britain, helped settle the "Alabama" claims. A.N.S., on a 3 1/4" x 2 3/4" card, Quincy, May 24, 1876, transmitting a note in the hand of his grandfather, U.S. President John Adams (not present). He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Very good. WITH: OLIVER P. MORTON (1823-1877) Civil War Governor of Indiana and a strict supporter of the Union cause. Signature in black ink on a 4 3/4" x 1 1/4" slip of paper cut from a document. Shows some soiling, else very good. WITH: PRESTON KING (1806-1865) Ardent abolitionist and wartime governor of New York. Manuscript L.S., 1p. 4to., Washington, D.C., Aug. 21, 1861, to the Mercantile Library Association of New York City, forwarding a volume of the Pacific Railroad Survey (not present). He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows original mailing folds and some toning to the verso, else very good. WITH: DANIEL S. DICKINSON (1800-1866) Pre-war senator from New York and New York Attorney general during the war. A.L.S., 1p. 4to., Binghamton, July 28, 1860, a rather illegible message to an attorney. He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Ragged at the left edge, shows original mailing folds, else very good. Four pieces.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
