Good lot of nine Civil War-date pay accounts, all signed by notable Union brevet generals, includes: THEODORE JONES (1832-1916), partly-printed D.S., 1p. folio, [n.p.], April 15, 1863, a pay account for Jones and two servants, African-Americans J. Wright and E. Martin. Jones signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his rank 'Lt. Col.' Original folds with splits repaired on verso with cello tape, else very good. WITH: CHARLES H. HOWARD (1838-1908), partly-printed D.S., 1p. folio, [n.p.], Aug. 31, 1863, a pay account for Howard and his servants 'Wash' and Charles, described as 'colored'. Signed at conclusion in black ink, adding rank of 'Major'. Original folds with notable splits repaired on the verso with tape, marginal chips, else very good. WITH: JOHN G. FONDA (1822-1910), partly-printed D.S., 1p. folio, [n.p.], March 22, 1863, a pay account for Fonda and two servants, African-Americans Willis More and Ephraim. Signed at conclusion in black ink, adding rank 'Col.' Original folds with notable splits repaired on the verso with cello tape, else very good. WITH: HENRY C. DUNLAP (1828-1872), partly-printed D.S., 1p. folio, [n.p.], July 8, 1864, a pay account for Dunlap and two African-American servants whose names are unfortunately illegible.
