Good lot of ten items signed by Union brevet generals of the Civil War, includes: ANSON G. MCCOOK (1835-1917), A.L.S., 2pp. 8vo., New York, Feb. 27, 1877, to a Commodore Nicholson of the U.S. Navy, a letter of introduction for a carpenter seeking employment at the New York Navy Yard under Nicholson's command. McCook signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows original mailing folds, else very good. WITH: CHARLES C. MCCORMICK (1837-1884), partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., Murfreesboro, Aug. 15, 1862, certifying the discharge of a private of the 7th Pennsylvania Cavalry for unstated reasons. He signs at the conclusion in black in, adding his rank "Capt.", executing his name a second time in the body of the document. Shows original folds, else very good. WITH: ROBERT A. MCCOY (1835-1893), manuscript D.S., 1p. 4to., Harrisburg, Jan. 17, 1870, certifying that certain lots of land in Venango County, Pennsylvania were presented to a Robert Lamberton in 1864. McCoy signs at the conclusion on behalf of the state Surveyor General. Shows original folds, with a split to the bottom fold repaired on the verso with cello tape, not affecting the signature, else very good. WITH: THOMAS F. MCCOY (1819-1899), partly-printed D.S., 1p. oblong folio, Harrisburg, March 17, 1862, a "Muster-Out Roll" for chaplain William S. Campbell of the 107th Pennsylvania Volunteers. McCoy signs at the conclusion certifying the information contained in the document, adding his rank "Col. Comdg. Regt." Shows vertical folds, else very good. WITH: DAVID B. MCCREARY (1826-1906), partly-printed D.S., 1p. oblong 8vo., Erie, June 14, 1888, a check drawn on the Marine National Bank of Erie, withdrawing $62.45. He signs at bottom right in black ink. The signature shows minor brushing, with one of three cancellation punched just barley intersecting the "B" in the signature, else very good. WITH: ANDREW J. MACKAY (1827-1901), partly-printed D.S., 2pp. 4to., [n.p., n.d.], a portion of an "Abstract of Advances' made to officer's of Mackay's regiment. He signs boldly at the conclusion in black ink. The document has been split neatly down the center fold, with the other half absent, good to very good. WITH: CHAUNCEY MCKEEVER (1829-1901), manuscript L.S., 2pp. 4to., Washington, D.C., June 23, 1882, to Florida senator Wilkinson Call, regarding his uncertainty as to the whereabouts of a certain map. He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows original folds, else very good. WITH: DAVID B. MCKIBBIN (1831-1890), signature in black ink on a 5" x 1 1/2" slip of paper, adding his rank "Bvt. Brig. Gen. Vols." Ragged at the bottom edge and showing mounting remnants on the verso, else very good. WITH: NAPOLEON BONAPARTE MCLAUGHLEN (1823-1887), partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., Brandy Station, Feb. 9, 1864, a "Special Requisition" form for supplies for McLaughlen's regiment of the 1st Massachusetts Volunteers, including canteens, tents, axes, etc. He signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his rank "Col." Shows folds, else very good. WITH: JAMES MCQUADE (d. 1885), signature in black ink on a 2 1/2" x 2 1/4" slip of paper cur from a letter, adding a salutation and his rank "Brevt. Major Genl. U.S. Vols." Shows some foxing and a pencil identifying inscription, else very good. Ten pieces.
