PORTER (1838-1901), manuscript D.S., 1p. 4to., [n.p., n.d.], providing a blank template for a list of officers attached to each regiment of "Jameson's Brigade" (the 2nd Maine Volunteers). Porter signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows original folds with a small split to one, with some spots of soiling and toning, else very good. WITH: LEWIS RICHMOND (1824-1894), partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., Falmouth, Dec. 18, 1862, a certificate affirming the discharge of a private of the 35th New York Volunteers on special orders from the headquarters of the Army of the Potomac. Richmond signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows folds, a small chip to the top edge and an ink spot, else very good. WITH: ORLANDO C. RISDON (1840-1894), manuscript D.S., 1p. 4to., Jackson, Aug. 3, 1865, certifying that a lieutenant of the 53rd U.S. Colored Infantry has filed his regular monthly returns for government property. Risdon signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his rank "Col. 53 U.S. C. Inf." Shows several staple holes at to, ragged at the left edge, else very good. WITH: JOSEPH ROBERTS (1814-1898), A.L.S., 2pp. 4to., Philadelphia, July 18, 1859, to a Col. John Munroe, enclosing several receipts for his travel from Fort Laramie, asking after personal articles he has shipped, and informing his correspondent of his recruiting efforts in New York. He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Some ink show-through with original mailing folds, else very good. WITH: HENRY L. ROBINSON (1812-1901), A.L.S., 1p. 4to., Washington, D.C, May 16, 1865, to an illegible recipient, enclosing a payment. He signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his rank below. Shows some toning and small chips to the edges, with original mailing folds, else very good. WITH: WILLIAM A. ROBINSON (1830-1902), partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., Battle Creek, Aug. 20, 1862, certifying the discharge of a private of the 77th Pennsylvania Volunteers by reason of disability. Robinson signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his rank "Capt." Shows original folds, else very good. WITH: HIRAM C. RODGERS (1837-1919), A.L.S., 1p. oblong 8vo., [n.p.], Aug 3, 1862, to a Col. Bartlett, ordering him to dispatch a detail of men for fatigue duty, by order of Gen. David Hunter. He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Ragged at the bottom edge, shows folds and slight splits, else very good. WITH: GEORGE C. ROGERS (1839-1915), signature in black ink on a 1 1/2" x 4 1/4" slip of paper, adding his rank "Late Brig Gen U.S.V. Waukegan Ill." Very good. WITH: ADRIAN R. ROOT (11832-1899), partly-printed D.S., 2pp. 4to., Belle Plains, March 19, 1863, a discharge certificate for Col. John W. Shedd. Root signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his rank "Colonel". Shows original folds with slight splits and slight toning to the edges, else very good. WITH: SAMUEL ROSS (1822-1880), manuscript D.S., 1p. oblong folio, Marietta, Sep. 4, 1864, an inspection report for equipment issued to troops under a 1st Lieutenant.
