Description:

Wooden plaque, 12.5 x 17 in., featuring a metal insignia affixed at the center in the colors of the American flag depicting a sleeve insignia patch for the naval vessel. Two metal banners fastened to the top and bottom read ‘CONSERVATOR' and ‘KRISHNA' in blue lettering. At the bottom is a gold plate, naming the recipient as ‘Lt. Jg. A.G. Searcy SC USNR', reading in part: '10 August 1966 to 6 July 1967 in support of Market Time Operations in the Gulf of Thailand. You ran the store and paid the crew, PCF'S coasties and rach gia too in the hot box with sweat and money ran together it was enough to pull out your hair but you were there to do your bit with your bagpipes under your arm and so to you Big Al we bid adieu...' Appears to be honoring the service of Searcy for his service on the ship from 1966-67. The paint has worn away slightly in some areas, mostly at the letters. Overall, very good. In 1966 the Krishna served as a repair facility in Sasebo, Japan and then continued to patrol along the Vietnam coast. The ship also earned 12 battle stars for service in nearly every campaign of the Vietnam War.
