U.S.S. CURRITUCK POLICE PETTY OFFICER'S BADGE
Shield-shaped police petty officer's badge from the USS CURRITUCK (AV-7). The steel badge, 2.75 in. tall, displays the Navy's eagle with fouled-anchor at center flanked by the blackened letters in relief: 'POLICE PETTY OFFICER' and 'D DIVISION AV-7'. No maker's mark, straight pin with catch on reverse. Some very light oxidation, else fine. USS Currituck (AV-7) was the first of four Currituck class seaplane tenders, and was nicknamed the Wild Goose. She was built during World War II and served during the Cold War. USS CURRITUCK tended seaplanes flying missions in the Leyte operations and remained in the Far East in support of the reoccupation of the Chinese mainland, tending seaplanes at Jinsen (Inchon), Korea, and Shanghai, Tsingtao and Taku, China.

We will ship with USPS Priority Mail only if the buyer submits their request to us in writing and accepts responsibility for delayed shipments. Signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
