T.L.S., 1p. 8vo., Washington, D.C., Dec. 1, 1972, to Mr. John Buchanan, offering his brief thanks for his correspondent's Christmas card. He signs at the conclusion in blue ink. WITH: ARTHUR RADFORD (1896-1973), admiral and second Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. T.L.S., 1p. 8vo., Washington, D.C., Feb. 7, 1957, to Richard S. Cawley, transmitting a signed photo (not present) to his correspondent as requested. He signs at the conclusion in black ink. WITH: THOMAS H. MOORER (1912-2004), admiral and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1970 to 1974. T.D.S., 1p. 4to., Washington, D.C., Dec. 16, 1972, a statement addressed to the Great White Fleet Association on the occasion of their 28th reunion, in small part: "...Even with today's sophisticated technology, circumnavigating the globe by ship is no small task. Doing it in the earliest years of this twentieth century was an outstanding feat, and those officers and men who made this cruise possible proved themselves of stoutest heart...."
