Good pair of World War I-era propaganda posters, each advertising the United States Food Administration, which was tasked with managing the food reserves of the U.S. Army and its allies in Europe during the conflict, as well as enforcing rationing and donations of materials on the home front. Includes: Two-color poster, 20 x 29 in., showing a hand holding a bread knife, slicing a loaf of bread, above the text: "Save a loaf a week. Help win the war." The bottom edge is marked "U.S. Food Administration", above a publishing line indicating that it was printed by the W.F. Powers Lithography Co. of New York. Wrinkles, else very good. WITH: A second text-only poster, 20 x 29 in., advising readers to save wheat, meat, fats and sugar, "...and serve the cause of freedom". The bottom edge is marked "U.S. Food Administration", above a publishing line indicating that it was printed by the W.F. Powers Lithography Co. of New York. Some damage and loss to the edges, with a notable jagged tear to the bottom-right, else very good.

Shipping

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, FedEx and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
