TUNIS AUGUSTUS CRAVEN
(1813-1864) Union officer in the Navy during the Civil War, killed in action at Battle of Mobile Bay. Very rare partly-printed D.S. 1p. oblong 12mo., New York, Apr. 16, 1864, a check drawn on the Bank of the Republic ordering a payment to Craven in the amount of $20.00. Craven's endorsing signature on verso reads: "T. Augs. Craven Comdr". Slit cancels lightly affect signature, otherwise very good. Signed just two months before his death.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
