TRUMAN (1884-1972) 33rd President of the United States who led the country in the closing days of World War II and through the re-building of Europe under the Marshall Plan and the Korean War. Vintage S.P., 8" x 10", b/w, depicting President Truman shaking hands with USMC General Clifton B. Cates during a public ceremony, signed "Harry Truman" against the light background of an American flag. Also signed "C.B. Cates" across his own image. Accompanied by the original White House manila envelope addressed to the recipient, a member of the Marine Corps with the date noted "2/7/50". Clifton B. Cates (1893-1970) is remembered for his leadership during World War I and at Iwo Jima in World War II. A fine association, very good. $300 - 400
