Description:

TRUMAN 1949 INAUGURAL PLATFORM TICKET
A ticket to the Jan. 20, 1949 "Inaugural Ceremonies", 4 1/4" x 2 3/4", allowing the bearer admittance to Section A of the Inaugural Platform, the same platform from which Truman gave his inaugural address. Fine, with numbered transmittal envelope. Truman's speech was laced with anti-communist rhetoric, but with a few excellent quotes, including: "The American people stand firm in the faith which has inspired this Nation from the beginning.
