Army-issued training booklet: 'Ausbildungsvorschrift fur die Artillerie, Heft 1b' ('Training Regulation for Artillery, Booklet 1b') (Berlin: Verlag von E.G. Mittler & Sohn), 1936. 112pp. 12mo. The front flyleaf bears an affixed ownership sticker, reading 'Gefreiter Herboth 1./A.R. 10' ('1st Battery, 10th Artillery Regiment'). Within this booklet is a folded carbon copy of a letter on 'Artillerie Regiment 10' letterhead, 1p. 4to., Regensburg, Sept. 22, 1937, bearing further information about training protocol, signed at the bottom by an 'Oberkommando des Heeres'. Fine. The 10th Infantry Division - under which the 10th Artillerie-Regiment had served - participated in the annexation of Austria in March 1938, the invasion of Poland in September 1939, and the invasion of France in May 1940. Elements of the division took part in atrocities against the civilian population, taking part in the murder of at least 14 civilians during the division's advance towards Sieradz and Lask. - 40-60
