Newburgh, May 22, 1781, a circular directed to Deputy Quartermaster, Col. Hughes requesting that he would "...immediately make out & transmit to the Assistant Q M General the necessary Returns agreeable to the Plan for conducting the Q M General's Departments up to the Close of the last Quarter; and that in future Returns may be transmitted as nearly at the stated Periods as Circumstances will possibly admit..." . Margins just a tad rough, usual folds, very good condition. Matted and framed with a portrait of Pickering.
