THOMAS AND MINA EDISON
MINA EDISON (1866-1947) Second wife of Thomas Edison, she was the daughter of the inventor Lewis Miller, co-founder of the Chautauqua Institution and a benefactor of Methodist charities. They had three children together. Lot of three items includes: two 1886 checks signed by Mina, one engrossed by her husband THOMAS EDISON and payable to "James Bell & Co.", with a 1913 T.L.S stating that Thomas Edison's mother was born in Connecticut and "his father was a Canadian". Letter is damaged, checks are fine. Interestingly, the historical record shows Edison's mother was born in New York.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items are not shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arrange through the auction house.
