THOMAS A. EDISON
(1847 - 1931) American inventor of the electric light, phonograph, typewriter, and microphone, to name a few. Considered perhaps the greatest inventor of the century. Pair of good content notes signed with initials, each 1p. 8vo., [n.p., ca. 1923-4], in pencil to his assistant Buchanan. An accompanying set of notes from assistant GEORGE E. HART records water loss following the drying of recording cylinder blanks in ovens. Edison sends related news to Buchanan: "Buchanan Have you started the 450 lb. blank pressure. Wells rating has fallen badly. E". Also: "Buchanan 5 1/2 grams water is lost by this test, per blank. E". Second letter has paper chipped at top margin with no loss of text, toned a bit, else very good. Three pieces.
