(b. 1921) American Army Air Corps officer, navigator of the Enola Gay during its mission to Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. Superb signed diagram "Theodore J. Van Kirk Navigator - Enola Gay 6 Aug 1945", 1p. oblong 4to., [n.p., n.d.] showing the relative position of the Enola Gay at the time of the detonation of the first atomic bomb 1800 feet over Hiroshima together with the resulting mushroom cloud "Estimated 60,000' above the target of Aioi Bridge." Very fine condition.
