Description:

THEODOR EICKE
(1892 - 1943) German military officer, commander of the SS-Division Totenkopf of the Waffen-SS and one of the key figures in the establishment of concentration camps in Nazi Germany. Together with SS-Obersturmbannführer Michael Lippert, Eicke executed SA Chief Ernst Röhm following the "Night of the Long Knives". Bold signature "Friendly greetings, Eicke" at the conclusion of a letter sent to him by a member of the Hitler Youth, Krefeld, July 31, 1942. The youth mentions that he has collected over one hundred autographs of prominent German military leaders and congratulates Eicke upon a recent award of the Knights Cross. Fine.
