Description:

THEODOR EICKE'S PERSONAL PORCELAIN INKWELL AND BLOTTER
THEODOR EICKE(1892 - 1943) German military officer, commander of the SS-Division Totenkopf of the Waffen-SS and one of the key figures in the establishment of concentration camps in Nazi Germany. Together with SS-Obersturmbannführer Michael Lippert, Eicke executed SA Chief Ernst Röhm following the "Night of the Long Knives". A chilling pair of Eicke relics, his personal porcelain desk inkwell with stopper and blotter. Both pieces bear Eicke's signature in facsimile, along with the dates "17. Okt. 1937" which corresponds with his 45th birthday. The inkwell measures 2 5/8" square and 1 3/4" tall with a white and orange porcelain stopper bearing a gold Totenkopf at top. It yet contains traces of dried blue ink. The blotter bears a porcelain top with arched black-painted arched wood body, orange handle also with a gold Totenkopf, and the paper blotter beneath bear about 15 reverse imprints of Eicke' signature. Although the gilding of the Totenkopfs have faded a bit, both pieces remain in excellent condition. Each piece marked "KPM". A frightful pair of relics from one of the most notorious murderers of the Third Reich.
