The Jacksons RIAA Gold Record Award
A true piece of music history, a RIAA certified gold record award issued to Epic Records to commemorate the sale of 500,000 copies of The Jacksons album "The Jacksons." As the group's first release for Philadelphia International/CBS Records in November 1976, following their seven-year tenure On Motown Records as "The Jackson Five," the album was certified gold on April 5, 1977. Jackson 5 member Jermaine Jackson stayed with Motown when his brothers broke their contracts and defected to CBS; he was replaced by youngest Jackson brother Randy. "Blues Away" was the first published song written by Michael Jackson, and this album was their first to go gold. Though the label has faded, the award is In excellent condition with a few scratches to the frame.
