Lot 1834
THE COMEDIAN HARMONISTS Early, popular German Jazz sextet of the 1920s and early 1930s, forced to disband in 1934 by the emerging Nazis because three of them were Jewish. Before their tragic fall, the group made many recordings and starred in numerous films, alongside cinema greats such as Marlene Dietrich. Uncommon vintage I.S.P. 9" x 7" b/w, showing the entire group in a standing pose, and signed by each member on his respective image, including band founder HARRY FROMMERMANN, bass ROBERTO BIBERTI, tenor ARI LESCHNIKOFF, baritone JOSEF CYCOWKSI, and second tenor ERIC COLLIN. An inscription over a darker portion of the image in Frommermann's hand at bottom. Light fading to signatures, otherwise very good, simply framed. Unexamined out of frame. $75-100
