Each volume is paper bound with staple binding and runs about 30-35pp. Content includes a single color plate at front, countless images of both engravings and photographs, (including many by Matthew Brady) biographies of military leaders (North and South), battle accounts, and social context of both Northern and Confederate life. The publication was organized by the Civil War Semi-Centennial Society and was released in serial form, the back cover of each giving previews of what the following issue would contain. All bindings present, although a couple of covers have some separation at spine; moderate wear, light toning, otherwise good. $200-300
