Description:

THE 7TH CAVALRY IS ISSUED UNFIT HORSES
Pair of D.S.'s, each 1p. 4to., Ft. Lincoln and Fort Rice, D.T., Dec. 8 and Nov. 17, 1876, each indicating unsuitable mounts for the 7th's cavalrymen. One document, a retained copy, states that during a march between Fort Reno and Standing Rock, a horse issued to Capt. Myles Moylan fell and became unfir for further immediate service, the other indicating that horses invoiced by Lt. Badger and transferred to the Quartermaster had been rendered "unserviceable". Very good.
