684. GEORGE STONEMAN (1822-1894) Union major general who led a corps at Fredericksburg, and later commanded cavalry raids at Chancellorsville, Macon, and in the Carolinas. Partly-printed D.S. "George Stoneman", 1p. 4to., 1869, an "eagle" military discharge of William Schurer, a private, who had served for three years. Some soiling, principally at margins, folds, generally good condition.
