Description:

SS STORMTROOPER SOLDIER'S DOCUMENT GROUPING
Good lot of 20+ letters, documents, etc. outlining the career and desperate efforts of dedicated Rottenfuhrer Karl Weiser to obtain German citizenship and further serve the SS politically and otherwise. The grouping starts 1931 and continues until May, 1939. Weiser's service started with SS 34-Standarte 4.Sturm in Muhldorf in 1931 when he was 20 years old. He was born in 1912 in Braunau, Austria, which was also the birthplace of Adolf Hitler. Included are recommendations commending his training in a variety of weapons, political dedication, and attitude, an order to attend a political meeting, a 1933 rejection of his application to join the Austrian army, as well as a rejection from the SS 'political squad' due to his retention of Austrian citizenship; legal correspondence concerning his desperate attempt to be naturalized, and attempts to join the Heer Mountain troops again stymied by his lack of proof of 'Aryan' ancestry. On Aug. 3, 1935 he declares himself an Austrian expatriate to the Austrian consulate, and is promised German citizenship. On Sep. 24, 1935 he writes to Sepp Dietrich asking that he be considered a candidate for the Liebstandarte Adolf Hitler. Also present is a certified copy of his naturalization record, his SS-Ahnentafel, an A.L.S. setting forth biographical details, and three daily programs from the M.S. MONTE OLIVIA from a six day voyage in 1936, part of the 'Kraft durch Freude' program. Overall very good.
