Description:

Good lot of three wartime photographs showing Soviet soldiers among the ruins of the Reichstag in Berlin, includes: original photo, 4 1/4" x 3" b/w, a view of twenty Red Army soldiers posing on the rooftop of the Reichstag, with its cupola visible at the left edge and the ruined city stretching out in the background. The image is labeled and date "Berlin 3-6-45" within the plate at bottom left, while the verso bears a lengthy Cyrillic inscription in blue ink, mostly illegible due to mounting remnants but beginning: "I had craved to see the conquered Berlin and flying Victory banner..." This inscription is also dated "3 June 1945" at bottom left. In addition to the mounting remnants, shows some minor wear, else very good. WITH: original real-photo postcard, 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" b/w, a view of three Soviet soldiers on the roof of the Reichstag, with the ruined cupola in the background. Beneath the image appears a Cyrillic inscription in red ink: "16:00 2 May 1945. On the roof of the Reichstag during the raising of the Victory Banner and the capitulation of the Berlin garrison." The verso bears an additional Cyrillic inscription in blue ink, identifying the subjects: "Lieut. Col. Shapovalov, writer Aleksandr Bok, assist. commander, Political Dept. 282nd Guards Regt..." Shows Some bumps and wear to the edges, else very good. WITH: period press photograph, 6 3/4" x 4 1/2" b/w, a view of soviet tank crews celebrating with bottles of liquor and an accordion, as the ruined Reichstag looms in the background. Bears a pencil accession number on the verso, as well as faint mounting remnants, else very good. Three pieces.

International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
