SOLDIER DROPS THE F-BOMB TO DESCRIBE HIS ACTIVITIES IN WASHINGTON
A crass A.L.S. by a private in Company I, 6th New York Cavalry, 3pp. 8vo., written, on patriotic stationery "Washington, [D. C.], Oct. 17, [61]" to Efner McNall who enlisted in the same regiment and company within days of receiving this letter. In part: "…it must have been pretty sad news for William Lawrence's parents [&] folks to hear…o' it was awful…Efner you do not have more fun there then we do here for we get all the fucking that is necessary. We got our pay and was glad to get it…I got 40 dollars. That is better than staying at home…". The original stamped patriotic transmittal cover (front panel only) cover is included. Two pieces in very good condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
