463. SLAVE LEG SHACKLES Arare pair of hand-forged iron slave leg shackles, 15 1/2" long overall and eachshackle about 3 1/2" wide, with a fixing split ring at one end. These shackles,recovered from a very large Georgia plantation, date from the late 1700's andare identical in construction to those found in slave ship wrecks of the sametime.
