(Slave Importation) Fine content L. S., 4pp. 4to., Matanzas, Oct. 28 1818 William Forsyth writes to Messrs. Karsick and Harper in Baltimore sending a copy of a letter to him from a Capt. Macomb ordering insurance for the 1/8th interest owned by the captain in the Spanish brig Grande Labrin, bound from the coast of Africa with a cargo of slaves. Forsyth asks the firm to affix the insurance in the best way possible. References to slaving vessels are quite rare.
