691. (DANIEL SICKLES) SETH WILLIAMS (1822-1866) Union brigadier general active at Gettysburg, Petersburg, and Atlanta. He was also adjutant general of the Army of the Potomac. War-date manuscript D.S., 1p. 4to., "Camp Near Coal Harbor", May 24, 1862, headed "Special Orders No. 156" and indicating at bottom that it is Sickles' copy, official notice that Sickles "...will report to Brig. General Joseph Hooker, for the command of the 2nd Brigade of his division, 3rd Corps..." Some damage includes dampstains, fold splits repaired with cello tape on verso, just good. $100-150
