Description:

SERVICE RECORD FOR AN SA-STANDARTE "FELDHERRNHALLE" MAN
Typed D.S., 1p. 4to., Stettin, Apr. 7, 1938, a brief service record for Gerhard Bartelt, a member of the elite guard unit of the SA, the SA-Standarte "Feldherrnhalle". The document lists Bartelt's birth date as Nov. 3, 1913, and states that he entered the SA on the same date in 1933. He served with "Feldherrnhalle" from June 1, 1936, to April 7, 1938, the date this document was created. It refers to Bartelt, as a "... responsible, attentive, and able SA-man. Constantly eager to serve and always ready for action. His conduct on and off duty was good. He never faced disciplinary action". A disclaimer at the top of the page states that this service record is not intended to be a record of Bartelt's political convictions. The SA-Standarte "Feldherrnhalle" was named for the monumental building in Munich which played host to the fight that ended Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch. It became a sacred site to the Nazis after Hitler's rise to power. Folds, file holes at left margin, else very good.
