SERGEI KOROLEV(1907 - 1966) Chief designer and architect of the Soviet space program, the genius and inspiration behind Soviet space exploration, his very existence was kept a secret. Early original signed blueprint, 15" x 12", [n.p., 1934], untranslated but labeled "Graphic No. 2" and showing a series of vectors diagrams, from a grouping related to the CK-7 rocket or jet-propelled aircraft project. Nicely signed beside his printed name and title. Folds, else very good. In 1931 Korolev joined the Central Aero and Hydrodynamics Institute, and in 1932 was appointed chief of Jet Propulsion Research Group, GIRD, one of the earliest state-sponsored centers for rocket development of cruise missiles and of a manned rocket-powered glider.
