Description:

SEMION M. BUDENNY
(1883 - 1973) Soviet field marshal and Commander in Chief of the Southwestern Front. An inept leader, Budenny allowed Von Rundstedt's army to divide and nearly destroy his command. Partly-printed D.S. 4pp. legal folio, Feb. 7, 1950, in which Budenny authorizes the promotion of Col. Ivan Dorofeyev from Head of the Topography Department of the Tavria Military District to General-Major of Technical Troops. Also ratified by several relatively minor World War II generals, not identified. Light dampstain to upper left corner, otherwise boldly signed and very good.
