In part: '...I might endure you to write for us a review of Green's new book...of course we should publish what you gave us anonymously, and should be disposed to accept your own views as to remuneration...' Reid signs at the conclusion.; another T.L.S. from WHITELAW REID on 'New York Tribune' letterhead, 1p. 4to., New York, March 13, 1889, bearing routine content. Toned, discolored, and worn to the margins; A.L.S from HART LYMAN (1851 - 1927), editorial page editor for the New York Tribune for over two decades, the third editor-in-chief of the newspaper, 1p. 12mo., New York, Dec. 24, 1902, sending a Christmas gift to a former employee; A.L.S. from EDWARD CHURTON (1800-1874), English churchman and Spanish scholar, 1p. 12mo., 1841, enclosing his 'contribution to Eng. Church History' and adding his attempt to 'pay a due tribute to the memory of Byrthnot, whom I suppose to be the founder of our Church of Monks' Eleigh'. Tipped to a card; A.L.S. from ISABEL FLORENCE HAPGOOD (1851 –1928), American writer and translator of Russian and French texts, including Victor Hugo and Leo Tolstoy, 12pp. 8vo., Nantucket, MA, June 23, 1894, generally discussing her experiences in Russia; A.L.S. from ROBERT JONES BURDETTE (1844 - 1914), American humorist and clergyman, 2pp. 8vo., 'In the Woods', July 17, [n.y.], bearing routine content; signed book and a signed handwritten poem from poet JOHN WARD STIMSON; and a T.L.S. from JOHN MASON BROWN. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
