SABELLI'S OVERSIZEDVOLUME "Histoire de l'Aeronautique" A wonderful relic, being Cesare Sabelli's personal copy of the important volume on the history of aviation, Histoire de l'Aeronautique, L'Illustration, Paris, 1932, by Charles Dollfus and Henri Bouch?, probable second edition, a large folio volume of 569pp., leather-bound in blue, with copious illustrations of early aircraft, aviators, engravings, maps, replete with text and illustrations, some tipped in, some hand-tinted. Accompanying the book is an A.L.S. 1p. 4to., New York, Sept. 7, 1949, a receipt from bookseller Ernest Wavrovics to Sabelli for purchase of the book. Dollfus (d. 1981), was a renowned balloonist, a devoted aeronaut who spent collected planes, opening the Museum of Air. Edges lightly worn, but overall very good condition, and certainly a fine and rare relic, and a wonderful association piece to boot! $300-400
