Description:

THE PAPERS OF CESARE SABELLI An enormous grouping of material personally belonging to Cesare Sabelli, comprised of correspondence, documents, printed matter, telegrams and personal effects from all periods in his life, much relating to the early aviator's historical flights. Includes autograph material, photographs of Sabelli with various aircraft (some shots of wreckage), posing with dignitaries, receiving awards and honors, various letters of support and acoylades from artists, authors, aviators, starlets, dignitaries and politicians (including an autopen Reagan T.L.S.). Also sold with a thick FBI file suspicious of Sabelli's pre-1943 activities, a vintage custom tailored suit with tails owned by Sabelli (with matching shoes), hundreds of letters to him, certificates, transaction records, extensive family files (one brother was a pro-fascist journalist of some note in Italy, another was felled in WWI during an engagement with the "Red Baron"), various legal papers, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, mementos, prayer cards, commemorative programs, naturalization papers, his will, even his funeral guest book. Ideal for biographical research, this archive includes numerous articles telling Sabelli's story, a treatment pitched to book publishers and movie studios pitch as a proposed vehicle for Robert DeNiro or Al Pacino. There is literally fifty pounds of paper here, largely unread or untranslated, and therefore should be examined. Sold as is. Additional shipping charges will apply due to volume and weight. $400-$600
