SAAR CASED MEDAL
Likely unique cased Saar medal, 3 3/4" x 5 3/4" bronze showing the imperial German eagle clutching a wreath of oak leaves encircling a German cross with a banner beneath reading: "1918 1935 SAAR". This medal is presented within a custom-fitted case covered in light brown leather with gilt trim, closed with a small ivory pin which passes through a loop of leather. A museum acquisition number has been painted on the reverse of the medal and the case. This certainly was not an item produced in quantity due to its high quality. Said to have been presented to Adolf Hitler, though there is no provenance to support this claim.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items are not shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arrange through the auction house.
