RUSSIAN WORLD WAR II ANTI-SEMITIC POSTER An incredible, very rare World War II anti-Semitic poster from Russia, ca. 1942-3, measuring 16 1/2" x 23 1/2", and printed in red and black inks. The headline reads: "Lies of Bolshevism: What they promised, what they give". Beneath this is printed Karl Marx's famous axiom: Religion in the opium of the masses", with six cartoon panels that show caricatures of Jews at left, in roles of leadership, teaching, agitating, and so forth. At right, the "realities" of these activities are shown: teaching is counterpoised with starving orphans, agitators rallying the masses, and finishing with caricatures of Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin (who wears a Star of David), fat and rich with money bags in hands. Another headline reads: "No god other than Moredecai and Stalin is his prophet". Light fold at middle, a couple of pinholes and a few of minor edge tears, very good condition. A scarce, disturbing example of Russian propaganda shortly after the German occupation and the Russian alliance with the Allies .
