RUDOLF FRIML
(1879-1972) Czech-born composer of operettas, musicals, songs and piano pieces, best known for "Rose-Marie" and "The Vagabond King". Good lot of eight signed items, includes: typed D.S., 5pp. 4to., [n.p.], April 20, 1960, an agreement for the publication of Friml's composition "Somewhere in my Heart" in Britain and the Commonwealth. Friml signs at the conclusion in black ink, with lyricist DAILEY PASKMAN countersigning. Folds, else very good. Also present is a second typed D.S., 1p. 4to., a short-form version of the above agreement, also signed by Friml and Paskman. WITH: Typed D.S., 2pp. 4to., New York, June 15, 1960, an instrument granting American publication rights of "Somewhere in my Heart" to the Famous Music Corporation, signed by Friml and Paskman at the conclusion. Also present is a second copy of this agreement, also signed by Friml and Paskman. Both very good. WITH: Typed D.S., 3pp. 4to., New York, June 17th, 1960, an instrument granting American publication rights of the compositions "In Love With Love" and "On the Blue Lagoon" to the Famous Music Corporation, with copies of each signed by Friml and Paskman, and with a short-form agreement signed by both. Also present is a duplicate of the above instrument and short form agreement, both again signed by both Friml and Paskman. All with folds and staple holes, else very good. Eight pieces. Also present are three 3 1/4" b/w square snapshots showing Friml and Paskman with Friml's wife Kay at the 1965 New York World's Fair, as well as two postcards signed by Kay Friml.
