Interesting lot of five D.S.'s by eighteenth century royal families, includes: MARIE LESZCZYNSKA (wife of Louis XV), D.S., folio, June 24, 1754, a vote of confidence for newly appointed Cardinal Millo; ANTON, KING OF SAXONY, D.S., folio, House of Wettin, June 7, 1829, with embossed official seal, not translated; PRINCE of MODENA, D.S., folio, Feb. 10, 1716, a benediction for the state of Modena; GABRIEL PODOSKI, Prince and Archbishop of Poland and Lithuania, an important treatise titled: "Jurisdiction Ecclesiastique Nationale", 3pp. folio, [n.d., but ca. 1750], a legal interpretation of laws as pertaining to the separation of Church and State; ANATOL D. DEMIDOFF, PRINCE OF SAN DONATO, A.L.S., 1p., 4to., Sept. 4, 1850, not translated but apparently pertaining to literary matters. Also included in this lot: Louis XV, official state document, signed in proxy, May, 1760, issued to Charles Pierre Lavalette in consideration for his services. Good to very good condition with the exception of Queen Marie, which has extensive fraying at the top portion of the document.
