896. ELOISE J. ROORBACH (1868 - 1961) American Impressionist artist. A charming item, being a ribbon-tied book titled "Sweet and Low Alfred Tennyson", hand-drawn, illustrated and signed by Roorbach in pencil and ink, a tribute to the Mystic Orchestra of Connecticut. Inside are quotes from such literary greats as Tennyson, Dryden, Byron and Shakespeare, and composers as well. The book contains numerous, highly-detailed drawings by Roorbach, with calligraphic stanzas of Tennyson's poems, beautiful pasted-in photographs, likely albumens, beautifully penned musical quotes, and more.
