Description:

RONALD REAGAN
(1911 - 2004) Fortieth President of the United States who served for two terms (1981-1989) and contributed to the fall of European Communism. Nice content T.L.S. 1p. 8vo., Los Angeles, Sept. 3, 1976, on his personal letterhead to his longtime correspondents Misses Samueline and Berth Sisco, in part: "...Thank you for your very kind letter. We feel we did everything that could be done and now we'll move on to something else. Certainly we'll have more freedom than we've known in more than a decade...John Wayne's belt size is a 40. Thanks again for all you have done. Everyone is truly pleased with the belts. Efrem Zimbalist was leaving for Scotland but said it was the more handsome thing he had ever seen...". The Sisco sisters had approached Reagan in the early 1970s to request assistance for their mentally handicapped brother from the state of California, and Reagan remained in touch with them until 1987. They made leather goods to support themselves, and Reagan, among other celebrities noted, were fans. Indeed, Reagan's interest in the sisters remained strong, for he wrote them nearly 100 letters over the years. Signed in full and beautifully matted and framed with envelope, fine condition.
