"Dick McCreery", 2pp. 8vo., [n.p., n.d.]. He recounts action on the front at the Somme, in part: "...we had very few tanks left when the German advance from the Somme started...no arty support to speak of...the Germans had a very strong a[nti] t[an]k defense defense for their bridgehead west of the Somme...We were amazed by the French infantry...No plan of any sort, and we never saw a Frenchman digging...the climax came when the French streamed back across the Seine and not a single French soldier stopped to hold the left bank!..."
