(1913 - 1994) Thirty-seventh President of the United States who led during the Vietnam War, re-opened diplomatic ties with China and the U.S.S.R., resigned his office due to the Watergate scandal. Fine content T.L.S. "RN" on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., San Clemente, Jan. 2, 1975 to a doctor friend in New York. In part: "...I want you to know how deeply I appreciate the thoughtful message you sent me after I left office...We have passed through a very difficult period, but it is at such times that one learns who his real friends are...When I recover my health...I shall continue to work for those great goals to which we were dedicated in the years I served as President - peace for all mankind and prosperity and progress...". Fine.
