T.L.S. ‘Dick' on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., New York, June 1, 1968 to Perkins McGuire, the Assistant Secretary of Defense under Eisenhower and later Chairman of the Commission on Government Procurement under Nixon, in part ‘…This is just a note to congratulate you on your election as a delegate to our National Convention in Miami Beach. Your work on behalf of the Republican Party in Washington makes it most fitting that you should have the responsibility to help select the man who will be the next President of the United States…' This letter was written a month before the 1968 Republican National Convention, which selected Nixon as their nominee. Nixon's name appears in ink at top, else fine.
