REVOLUTIONARY WAR PAYROLL FROM BOSTON 1775
Manuscript document, 1p. 4to., Dorchester, Dec. 20, 1775 being "The Abstract of the one Months Pay from the first of October 1775 of Capt Luke Drurys Company in the 32d Regt. of foot in the Service of the United Colonies Commanded by Colo Jona. Ward --Esqr." The abstract lists the pay issued to the captain, first and second lieutenants as well as sergeants, corporals, privates and "Drums & Fifes" A short postscript notes that "1 Corporol [sic] & 2 Privates on Command at Canada Not Motioned in this pay Role" Earlier that year, Benedict Arnold had departed Boston on an overland expedition to capture Quebec. By the time of this document, these men would have been on the outskirts the City of Quebec. Rough margins, usual folds else very good condition.
