Description:

Granger, 1p. legal folio, "On Board the Galle Trumble", Jan. 22, 1777 en route to Fort Ticonderoga. Granger writes to his captain, in part: "...After my Service to you I would Inform you of my Arrival at this Place After a Long and Tedious march of Fifteen Days we arrived at Albany the 10th. Instant and march the 12th. For this Place our Company are Stationed on Board the Vessels at present in are all well This Days Expect Lewt McIntyre and the Rest of our Company In here...at present they are Daily Enlisting Troops in the Standing Army and I could have Enlisted several in our company in Case I could give them Furloughs home the first of February or within a month of their time Been Expired here. But I shall not Presume to Do that without your Immediate order. I should be glad to hear from you soon...". Marginal losses at bottom of letter only slightly affecting three lines of text, light dampstains and soiling, otherwise good to very good condition.
