Description:

(1904 - 1942) "The Hangman", Nazi head of the dreaded SS and architect of the "Final Solution", his assassination in Prague caused severe reprisal actions, including the destruction of Lidice and murder of many of its inhabitants. Partly-printed D.S., 1p. folio, Berlin, Feb. 26, 1941, a certificate promoting "police inspector candidate" Willi Luders to the full rank of police inspector. Heydrich signs in black ink at the conclusion, on the behalf of Reich Minister of the Interior Wilhelm Frick. A blind-embossed state seal has been added at lower left. Shows two horizontal folds at center, with smaller folds overall, slight foxing at the top left corner and file holes at the top edge, else very good. Sold with four additional documents related to Luders' police career, including: partly-printed D.S., 2pp. 4to., Weissenfels, March 14, 1931, a certificate indicating that Luders has passed his final exams at the "Polizeprasidium" ("police academy"), at Weissenfels, signed at the conclusion by eight police officers and instructors. Shows folds, file holes at the left edge, and chips to the bottom edge, else very good. WITH: partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., Berlin, Aug. 1, 1935, promoting "Wachtmeister" ("sergeant") Luders to the rank of "Oberwachtmeister" ("chief sergeant") in the Prussian "Landesdienst" ("national service"). Signed at the conclusion in black ink by a Polizei official on the behalf of Prussian Minister of the Interior Hermann Goering. Shows mild folds, with file holes at the left edge, else very good. WITH: partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., Berlin, Sep. 1, 1936, promoting "Oberwachtmeister" ("chief sergeant") Luders to the rank of "Revieroberwachtmeister" ("district chief sergeant") in the Prussian "Landesdienst" ("national service"). Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Polizei general WILHELM KLINGHAMMER on the behalf of Prussian Minister of the Interior Hermann Goering. Shows mild folds, with file holes at the left edge, else very good. WITH: Partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., Berlin, Dec. 6, 1940, certifying that Luders has passed his examination as a candidate for the "Verwaltungsdienstes der Sicherheitspolizei" ("Administrative Service of the Security Police") in Berlin. Signed at the conclusion by a Dr. Bergmann on the behalf of the "Chairman of the Examination Board for the Candidates of the Senior Administrative Service of the Security Police". Shows light folds and very light foxing, with file holes at the left edge, else very good. Four pieces.
